New York is an essential destination for many travelers. Whether you spend your time taking photos with the iconic city landmarks, ride around the busy streets in a yellow cab or spend your day exploring the shops and tasting the food, New York certainly has almost everything a city can offer.
This iconic half marathon will be combined with a shopping tour of New York – grab a bargain in A WINTER SALE. There's no shortage of shopping opportunities in New York. The city is essentially an outdoor mall, and everywhere you turn there's something — and somewhere — new to discover.
The sheer volume of big box retailers, old school department stores, luxe designer flagships, and cool indie boutiques can be as dizzying for a local as it is for a visitor. That's where we come in. Not only will we get you guaranteed entry into the half marathon* but we will also take you to the best shopping haunts in New York, no wasting time – just straight to the best shops!
The Half Marathon starting in Prospect Park in Brooklyn just south of Grand Army Plaza on Flatbush Avenue, you will head north before crossing over the Manhattan Bridge into lower Manhattan, pass through the Lower East Side before heading north on the FDR drive with views of Brooklyn and Queens skylines. You will approach the halfway point near East 42nd Street and pass the United Nations before a turn towards Grand Central Terminal and Bryant Park. You will then make a turn up Seventh Avenue before passing by 1000 children running through Times Square. Finally you will enter Central Park and head north to 102nd Street Cross Drive before a final turn south on West Drive with a finish in Central Park.
You will run past many of New York’s most popular sights including Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn, the United Nations, Grand Central Terminal and Times Square.
