United Airlines New York City Half Marathon 2019

The 2019 date for the New York Half Marathon is currently provisional.  Please do not book any travel until we reconfirm the date in the coming weeks.
Please note: We are only able to accept bookings from clients with an Australian address or where there is no official ITP (International Travel Partner) of New York Road Runners in that country.

Wednesday 13th March, 2019: Arrival in New York

Our representative will be waiting to welcome you into New York and will be based at The Beacon Hotel throughout your stay. After checking into your hotel, we will meet in The Beacon Hotel before departing to our Welcoming Dinner. Include Map of Hotel Beacon if possible.

Thursday 14th March, 2019

After breakfast our limousine will be awaiting to take us on our tour of Manhattan. Exploring this incredible city is a challenge. There’s just so much to see, so many places to visit, so many experiences to be had; and you don’t want to miss a single one! The sights, the smells, the sounds, and even the flavours of New York City belong to the street. Come with us and travel in true style and see some of the landmarks. This tour comes complete with express entry into the sights so there will be no time wasted!

Friday 15th March 2019

This will be the ultimate shopping experience.

Our group will be picked up in a luxury limousine within NYC, chauffeured to fashion designers’ showrooms and studios, and give us a place to stash your shopping bags along the way!

On a private Style Room NYC shopping tour experience, you will be brought into up to 5 different fashion designers’ showrooms and studios. You can purchase brand new current season clothing, handbags, jewellery and accessories (stock, not samples) directly off the racks and shelves at up to 65% off retail.

Dinner and Broadway show will be optional this evening (at an additional cost).

Saturday 16th March 2019

Today you should attend the half marathon expo, if you haven’t already, in order to pick up your running bib between 9:00am and 5:00pm. All runners must attend in person to pick up their bib, timing device and technical shirt. This is especially important as absolutely no race numbers will be issued on the day of the event, you must bring a photo ID when you collect your race number.

Also today is the St Patrick’s Day Parade. On of the best viewing spots is towards the end of the parade route at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. You can catch a good view of the procession before the parade ends on 86th Street.

Sunday 17 March, 2019 – The 2019 United Airlines NYC Half Marathon

Today is the day of the United Airlines New York City half marathon, the race starts at 07:30am.  Your Adventure Time Travel representative will escort you to the marathon starting line and will greet you back at the hotel later this evening to congratulate you on your success.

A Celebration Dinner will be held this evening.

Monday 18 March, 2019

A day for a final sightseeing trip and the journey home, alternatively you can book some extra nights with us and enjoy this wondrous city.

Important rules

• The New York half marathon has a time limit of three hours. Participants that cannot maintain a pace of 13:45 throughout the race will be picked up starting at mile 7.5 and transported to the finish. The time of the last runner to cross the start will be added to the limit, ensuring that all participants can keep a 13:45 pace.
• The race is timed with Chrono tag D-track timing, you will receive the timing tag before the race, attached to your race number. Following the instructions received with your race number you must attach the tag to your shoe prior to the race. The tag is disposable and will not be collected after the race. Runners bags approved by the NYRR will be transported from the start of the course to the finish.
• Runners must collect their bib at the expo before the race day. You must bring photo ID and your confirmation to the expo. You must do this yourself in person, we can’t do it for you and no numbers will be available on the day. No  costumes covering the face or bulky outfits that extend beyond the perimeter of the body are permitted in the event.

The rules are constantly updated, so we advise that you check your own individual situation as the visa waiver programme is subject to strict criteria, and for example, if you have a criminal record or have previously been refused entry to the US, you may not qualify for entry under the Visa Waiver programme. Please check your status with the rules. Passengers are no longer permitted to enter the USA with a non-machine readable ePassport (issued after 1 April 2016) unless their old style passport has a valid Visa stamp. The newer passports are machine readable. ePassports effective 1st April 2016

In preparation for customers travelling to the United States of America, please be aware that important changes have been made to passport requirements for the US.  If you are travelling on the Visa Waiver Programme to the US on or after 1 April 2016, you must have an ePassport. If you are not sure if you already have an ePassport or not, simply check your current passport for the ePassport symbol on the front cover.

The Essentials

To secure your Guaranteed Entry into the 2019 United Airlines Half-Marathon, return the Booking Form, which will be provided on receipt of your $500 deposit. Balance will be due on, or before the 5th November 2018. (Arrangement for payment instalments can be made if required).

Cancellations

Once lodged, all payments are non-refundable and non-transferrable. This condition applies to all circumstances, including to, but not limited to, the cancellation of the event, or to your cancellation.

It is recommended that travel insurance be arranged immediately after making the booking.

Travel Package

Entry to the 2019 United Airlines Half-Marathon is available only by way of purchasing a travel package. Entry only, is not available.

US Travel Requirements

Travellers to the US require an Visa, which can be applied for online via https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/. Your passport must be valid for a period of at least of six months, calculated from the date of departure from the USA

Final Itinerary

Your Itinerary and Final information will be issued approximately 3 weeks prior to your departure.

Amendments

An amendment/change to a confirmed booking will incur a fee of $55 per change, plus any fees levied by other suppliers.

Single travellers and twin to share

We welcome single travellers on our tours and holidays as it is a great way to join a like-minded group of people and you will make lots of new friends. If you would like to join our group as a single traveller we can offer you two options. A single room or if you want to avoid the single supplement then you can make use of our ‘twin to share’ option. We will pair you up with another traveller (of the same sex) and you can enjoy the event without having to pay extra
